Remembrancers and Sabriel

So in order to get some life going on this forum, here's a question I've been mulling over for a bit since reading Terciel & Elinor.

So Lirael is a Remembrancer. She can look into the past. Lirael implies that this is due to her

In Terciel & Elinor, we learn Sabriel has this same type of parentage. Does this imply that Sabriel has the potential to be a Remembrancer as well? Or was there something special about Arielle that did it? Or is it more or less random, like how Sam just kind of popped up as a

I suspect Sabriel has that potential as well but get the sense that genetics are only one part of that equation. Kind of like how certain genes are expressed in one sibling but not another. Maybe Remembrancer genes are recessive
